A Knowledge Activity Support System Based on Discussion Content
In knowledge activities, such some project plannings in enterprises or some research activities in universities,people continuously create ideas about some themes and theorize or materializethem into some concrete knowledge through the work such as the documentinvestigations and mounting. The discussion plays a important role in a knowledgeactivity, becuase people can be rewarded in the discussion about the idea to the theme.
The purpose of this study is to support the knowledge activities by efficient reuse ofthe discussion contents captured from face-to-face meetings. First, we propose a modelfor knowledge activities as a cycle of four phases based on discussions about ideas andknowledge, and consider the relationship between the discussion contents and theknowledge activities. Next, we have developed a system to supportthe knowledge activities. The system generates meeting minutes linked with video and audio dataof discussions and metadata as hints on semantic structures on discussions with the technologycalled ``Discussion Mining.'' Then, the users can reedit the minutes to contemplate the discussioncontents to use them for ordinary tasks such as examination, implementation, and verification.Therefore, the system converts the ideas created through ordinary tasks into presentation materialsfor subsequent discussions. We consider that it is possible to facilitate the knowledgeactivities by running over this knowledge activity cycle.
