Abstract

Discussions in seminars in a university play an important role in a research activity, because a presenter can obtain suggestions from the discussions about pending problems. The purpose of this study is to realize a system for creating and reusing seminar contents that include presentation materials, text minutes, visual and audio data, and metadata due to facilitation of discussions in seminars. We think it is important to make a presentation based on previous discussions because participants can understand the content of the current presentation more efficiently and can contribute to more active discussions. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a system, called DRIP system, to support a research activity using the accumulated seminar contents and the information related to the seminar contents. The result of evaluation shows that DRIP system enables us to make more understandable presentations based on previous discussions and to perform more meaningful discussions.
